      Nearly 1.1 million acres, this national forest stretches in a 140-mile narrow band from the Oregon border south. Six major rivers, 1,500 miles of waterways, four wilderness areas, six botanical areas, the Smith River National Recreation Area, two scenic byways, 200 miles of trails, and 2,500 miles of roads offer opportunities to hunt, fish, birdwatch, camp, hike, mountain bike, raft and kayak.
