CCFC PRESIDENTS NOTE'S Q & A: I have been receiving calls daily, regarding the kuerings here is the scoop;
STALLS: come included with Bedding- ONE BALE of STRAW per stall IMPORTANT NOTE: SHAVINGS are not allowed by the fairgrounds stalls bedded with shaving will be charged a $75.00 Clean up fee IN ADVANCE. No Exceptions! Stalls are wood and appox. 12x12 in size.
STABLING Question, yes the fairgrounds have said its ok for people to stay the night before the kuering and the night of the kuering. Please note those of you staying for Sat night the night of the keuring. CCFC will not be providing any security or night watchmen for that night, but we will for Friday when the majority of you arrive we will have people there on Friday from 12:00 noon until 7-8pm, and people staying overnight. Remember that the fairgrounds do lock the main gates at night so if you are going to be staying make sure you get locked in with your horses. If people want an alternate for Sat night the Santa Rosa Equestrian Center has 20 stalls available for a minimal fee, it is about 15 minutes drive from the fairgrounds, if your interested in going there on Sat. You can contact Tracy 707-527-6026 Tracy@srequestrian.com, www.srequestrain.com
MANDATORY SIGN UPS:
Additionally to the FHANA Forms, people MUST FILL OUT the stall orders/participants form and runners forms, these are FOR OUR KEURING SITE only and are MANDATORY for all attending (they are listed in the right hand column on this page).
RUNNERS: Runners price has increased and is going to be $65.00 per horse (mare and foal count as one) This is to be paid in CASH at the show. You are welcome to bring your filled out runners relese form with you to the show and give it to us then.
ARRIVALS: all horses MUST ARRIVE BEFORE THE SHOW STARTS which will be around 8:30 am, if they have not already come in the night before.
ORDER OF GO: We are being asked to arrange to have the horses presented in the following order ( Different from previous years):
STALLIONS..so that if the judges want to see a Central Proving Candidate back again, they can be told in advance, and seen again the same day.
MARES
REPEAT MARES
GELDINGS
REPEAT GELDING
YEARLINGS
FILLIES
COLTS
MICROCHIPS: The judges WILL NOT BE MICRO-CHIPPING FOALS at the kuering sites. all foals must BE PRE MICRO CHIPPED and a licensed vet must insert the chip and scan it for verification, sign a papers and that gets sent to FHANA. If your vet does not have a chip reader that can read the European chip you can rent a reader from the FHANA office by calling 859-455-7430 but you had better do it quick. Otherwise your vet cant insert the chip sign the papers without verification and you can bring your foal to the keuring to have the chip read and verified,
IF you arrive at the kuering site with a foal that has not been micro chipped or if the judges cannot read the chip, then your foal will not be presented, No exceptions.
HEIGHT CERTIFICATE: There has been allot of confusion regarding this issue.
The judges WILL BE MEASURING HORSES at the Kuering sites
YOU MUST STAY with your horses AT THE KUERING SITE until AFTER ALL CLASSES of stallions, geldings, mares and repeat mares and have gone then have your horse measured by the judges.
(usually at noon but often at the end of the Kuering day)
the height certificate IS ONLY for people that left a Kuering site with their horses after it has been presented without staying for measurements. WITHOUT a height.... registration papers and or Ster statues cannot be issued.
So unless you took a horse for studbook or Ster last year and there was a change to the horses papers, and you left before measuring. you do not have to fill out the height certificate.
HEIGHT REQUIREMENTS: ( Minimum Heights for each category, your guessed it if you don't meet that height your horse will not be allowed into that category)
STUDBOOK Mare or Gelding 150 cm/14.3hh
STAR, Mare/Gelding/Stallion 155 cm/15.1hh
MODEL MARE/3 YEAR APPROV. STALLION: 158 cm/15.2 1/4 hh
APPROV. STALLION 4 to 4+ 160cm/ 15.3hh
BODY CLIPPING: DO NOT body clip your horse, to read what is allowable in clipping and cutting please go under "Friesian Questions" on this website.
SHOES: you may present your horse shod or un shod but it must be all four shod or all four barefoot. No Corrective shoeing or pads. Clips are fine. Bare foot horses should, be even and presented with good condition hoofs, I suggest a recent manicure :-)STALLIONS: can be shod or un shod, above rules apply, however stallion shown with shoes will have some of there measured height removed, at the discretion of the judges to account for the shoes added height.
HOTELS: Ok there are allot of of events happening that weekend, I suggest if you need to get a hotel /motel room you start calling this week because many of the hotels are already fully booked.
Want to Know about allowable Clipping, Linear Scoring or how to present your horse? Please read under the "KEURING HOW TO PAGE" and "FRIESIAN QUESTIONS"
