About our Workshops

In the movement and meditation portions, Humphrey Blackburn will lead us through breathing excercises, then Chi Kung warm-ups, followed by elements of *Wu style T'ai Chi Chuan and guided meditations.

The combined effects of the gentle movements and meditations are a relaxed state of inner awareness and acceptance. This is the key we offer to releasing the creativity you were born with.

*Wu style T'ai Chi Chuan is characterized by slow, gentle, upright movements, based on those observed in nature. It is used as a healing, meditative practice, as well as being considered a martial art.

The art sections will be led primarily by Xan Aiden. You'll be offered colors as bold as fireworks, as murky as jungle shadows, to use however your desire leads you. Brushes have been known to be discarded in favor of fingers!

You'll be encouraged to "color outside the lines"; your's or anyone else's that seem to be confining you. Some will be drawn to concentrate on a single piece, working on it the entire time, while others are prolific, on one theme or many.

Each day of the longer workshops, we will intersperse the T'ai Chi/meditation with the Art sections, each complimenting the other, increasing the ease of the interchange between our everyday lives, and the heightened awareness and creativity we achieve in the workshops.
