- LIFELONG SUCCESS

Moral training makes possible sanctity, and a good education makes possible
a successful life. Catholic parents must desire these goods for their children.
Children are natural learners, and given the length of time that formal
educational systems have existed, it would seem that all would be very
successful by now. Unfortunately, many educational institutions are failing
because of exclusion of moral formation or departure from time tested methods.
The Ignation Method, developed over 450 years ago, is an educational
philosophy that works. It is a classical system rooted in the reality of the
need to concurrently train the memory, shape the faculties of critical
thinking and understanding, and form the will. In the hands of a good teacher,
it is a powerful tool. It generates a joy for learning which makes easier the
discipline needed to sharpen intellectual skills. It aids in the formation
of a resolute will intent on ethical behavior in all matters. When the
intellect and will are thus formed, the conditions for outstanding and
rewarding accomplishment in the journey of life are achieved.

Thomas More Preparatory School was founded in 1994 to help Catholic family
education. It is a small, privately run Catholic school located north of
Fort Bragg, California in a beautiful rural setting. Our program is unique
because it offers a handful of children the chance to study the core academic
subjects plus religion, foreign languages, and the humanities at an intensive
level, while taking frequent trips to see the things they are studying first
hand. Our small student body allows ample teacher-student interaction. Students
can also avail themselves of elective activities or sports at nearby public
school facilities.
Our first graduate in May 2000 was admitted to nine universities, and was
offered (3) four year scholarships to cover costs of tuition, room, and board:
for this we are grateful to God and justly proud. This success inspires us to
continue our work here at Thomas More Prep School.
