The "No Back Roads" site works and looks best if you use Netscape Navigator 3.0 or later or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or later.
If you're using a different browser, you will be able to view most areas of the Web site, although the formatting may look odd at times. The one thing you won't be able to do is view the digital photo albums -- they require a browser that supports JavaScript.

Plug-ins and Helper Applications
This site also relies on one plug-in module and one helper application. Fortunately, they're among the most popular ones, so you may already have everything you need.
To view the QuickTime VR virtual reality panoramic movies, you need Apple's QuickTime software and browser plug-in. If you see an error message when you try to open a VR movie (they're part of the digital photo albums), you'll want to go to Apple's Web site and download the software. It's available for both the Mac OS and Windows platforms. I hope you'll give it a try -- the QuickTime VR movies really are pretty fun to play with, and they aren't terribly huge (most of the VR movies on this site are between 100K and 150K). And there are many, many other sites that contain VR movies.
Some of the stories contain audio clips in RealNetworks' RealAudio format. You can download the free RealPlayer from RealNetworks Web site.

Tip
While a RealAudio clip is playing, keep in mind that you can do other things -- such as explore a page's photo album or even go to other pages.
