MCN Spam Control - Proofpoint Manual
Working with LISTS
You can train MCN Spam Control to recognize which email addresses should always be allowed or blocked
by putting those email addresses on a Safe Senders List or Blocked Senders List.
To maintian those lists you must look at the Lists section of the MCN Spam Control site.
Click on Lists on the bottom of the left column.
To add an email address to the Safe Senders List:
Click once on the words "Safe Senders List" at the top of the left column.
You'll see to your right any email address that you've placed on the Safe Senders List.
To add a name to the Safe Senders List click once on the NEW button in the top menu.
Type in the email address you want to add to the Safe Sender list below "Please specify email address..."
After typing in the email address click once on the SAVE button
The address you added should now appear in the the Safe Sender list.
Now all emails sent to you from that address will make it through and not be quarantined as spam.
To add an entire domain to your Safe Sender list (though MCN does not recommend this)
Click on the NEW button in the top menu.
Type in the domain you want to add to your Safe Sender list (i.e. mcn.org or washbucket.com)
To add an email address to the Blocked Senders List:
Click on the words "Blocked Senders List" in the upper part of the left column.
To add a name to the Blocked Senders List click once on the NEW button in the top menu.
Type the email address below "Please specify email address...".
After typing in the email address click once on the SAVE button
The address you added should now appear in the Blocked Senders list.
Now all emails sent to you from that address will be grabbed by Proofpoint
and put into your Quarantined Email list.
To add an entire domain to your Blocked Senders list (though MCN does not recommend this)
Click on the NEW button in the top menu.
Type in the domain you want to add to your Blocked Senders list (i.e. badguy.org or sillyspam.com)
To delete an email address from either list:
Check the email(s) you want to delete.
Click on the DELETE button in the top menu.
The email address(es) will be removed from that list.
