Proofpoint Spam Mail Digest
Proofpoint's Spam Mail Digest allows you to view your quarantined mail without having to log into the Proofpoint site.
The Digest is an email sent to you daily which lists the emails quarantined in your Proofpoint account.
Right in that email you'll be able to designate emails which aren't spam, addresses you want on your Safe List
and/or want "Released" (delivered) to your mailbox.
A typical Digest you receive might look something like this:
The Digest has two parts which allow you to have control over which emails are actually delivered to your mailbox.
1. The Management/Instructional Heading has links which allow you to put email addresses
on the “Safe” or “Block” sender lists, manage your Proofpoint account and leads you to a ProofpointHelp site.
2. A “Quarantine” summary of messages which were not delivered but are currently
stored in the message quarantine.
Let's look at these individually:
THE MANAGEMENT/INSTRUCTION HEADER
The header has three links:
1. Request Safe/Blocked Senders List
Clicking this link will send a request to Proofpoint to email you a list of your Safe/Blocked Senders Lists.
2. The “Manage My Account” links you to a Proofpoint login window where you can go into your account
to view your quarantined messages (Quarantine), change the level of spam filtering (Profile)
or add or delete an address from your Safe or Block lists (Lists).
3. The "Help" link will bring you to Proofpoint's help site.
In the body of the email you can view all the messages that have been quarantined.
Above each message are three links:
1. Release is clicked when you want the quarantined email sent to your mail box.
2. Safelist is clicked when you want the sender of the email to be put on your "Safe Senders List"
which will ensure all of the messages from that sender will be delivered to your mail box,
and NOT quarantined in your Proofpoint site.
3. Not Spam is clicked when the email is considered (by you) NOT to be junk email.
