Run, Salmon, Run!

Introductory Info

1) why salmon may be becoming an Endangered Species 2) determining which environmental hazards are affecting the salmon and what to do about them 3) observing how successful or unsuccessful salmon are at surviving in a local watershed area 4) coming up with an environmental plan which will be reasonable but assist in the survival of this important species 5) studying another Endangered species using the internet and comparing the types of hazards that species faces as opposed to the salmon.

To get a feeling about how hard it is for salmon to survive, you can play a board game which involves trying to get a number of salmon up into a watershed for spawning, and returning to the ocean. Your success will depend upon environmental factors as well as some luck or random circumstances (See PROCESS section for rules of the game).
