CalNHS.org continues to provide information that Californians
can trust about nursing home care, including objective evaluations about
nursing home quality. In addition, CalNHS.org now provides similar

this expansion, CalNHS.org now lists crucial details about quality, types of
services provided, complaints and deficiencies, staffing levels, cost and
location for virtually EVERY long-term care agency and facility in our
state. It also includes new interactive tools that help consumers, their
families, and providers determine if a nursing home is necessary, or if an
alternate care option is more appropriate. You'll notice that this website
is truly a one-stop shop for Californians evaluating their long-term care
options.

Since Governor Gray Davis took office in 1998, the number of children enrolled in Healthy Families has increased from 52,000 to over 500,000. In January, 2002, the federal Government announced approval of a waiver submitted under the leadership of Governor Davis to expand coverage under the Healthy Families program to cover parents of children eligible for Healthy Families or Medi-Cal.
