Watch Our Garden Grow!

Check back weekly for updated pictures of the Ukiah Healing Garden project, and watch our garden grow from a dry yard of crabgrass to a beautiful garden full of drought-resistant plants, art, and healing scents.

Made a stepping stone? Join us as we place the stones in the garden at our "One Step at a Time" celebration on Sunday, May 17th @ 10am - Noon. Call our Ukiah office (707) 467-3828 to register.

The last class was great! Check it out.
You can also read the articles about the project that were printed in the Ukiah Daily Journal.

Pathway pouring stones
garden
Now that the path has been laid down and the plants are all perking up for spring, it is time to pour the concrete for the stepping stones. Volunteers came out one sunny Sunday to help pour and get the stones ready for the "One Step at a Time" ceremony next month. Looking good!

What a lot of hard work! The guys took this weekend to lay down the mulch, spread the beautiful yellow gravel, and generally make some wonderful finishing touches to the garden. We are so thankful for their hard work and dedication to this project!

Thanks to the landscapers and the Boy Scouts, the plants went in this week! Now it's really starting to look like a garden (instead of a sea of black plastic). Wow! We are looking forward to pouring the gravel path and setting the stepping stones. If you'd like to make a stepping stone for the garden, come to our workshop - we'd love to have you! (See above for more info.)

This week, the garden was ready for planning. The talented landscapers marked the areas they are going to use for different plants, as well as the boundaries and the walkway. There are a lot more fallen leaves to contend with this week!
10/29/07
This week, our wonderful landscapers worked hard to lay the black cloth over the exposed dirt to get it ready for planting. We also contacted different organizations in town for donations of drought-resistant plants. It probably doesn't look like much yet, but we are very excited!
