Vacchetta Tarot - hand colored
Alexandra
has been doing quilting, embroidery
and other types of fabric art since
first learning to embroider at age 12.
Lately she has been doing some amazing
quilting -- both for community projects
and working on her own. We are starting
this page featuring her velvet "Bee
Pillow", completed in 2001. The pieces
were hand-dyed, then after being pieced
together, were embroidered with thread
and different types of ribbon. When
that was done, it was filled with wool
and a velvet back was put on. The finishing
touch was the addition of hand-tied
tassles on each corner.

Below is the "Butterfly Pillow", which was completed in spring 2002. It won a blue ribbon for best of the fabric art class at Art-in-the-Redwoods in Gualala, CA in August '02, then was sold to the same person who purchased the Bee Pillow.
