Horse Stamp Collection

This is the horse stamp collection to date. These photos are not to scale, a ruler is in the picture so you can tell which is three inches and which is only one half an inch. The clay shape, size and use changes. The stamp impression stays the same size. These examples are bisque fired and without any glaze on them. Each of the stamps started as an unfired cube of porcelain clay, onto which I draw a horse in pencil. Then I carve the horse out. It is an impression in the clay. I look at the work in progress by carefully stamping it into soft clay. The stamp is very fragile at this stage. If you accidentally carve too much out, it is junk. When the horse is finished, or I am afraid to carve any more, it is bisque fired. Now it is a horse stamp. E-MAIL SKYLARKSPUR
