I am not making progress with my own family tree. The records in the Philippines are mostly destroyed during the WWII I was told by our National Bureau of Census. But a friend who is a Congresswoman confirmed that my grandfather MAXIMINO NOEL was indeed a congressman representing the 6th district of Cebu has served the Philippine Congress between 1926-1928. She found this in the old documents at the Congress' Library.

You left a response to a query on the Westmoreland County Gen. Page.  I would like to know how your Joseph and my Jacob are related.  I recently discovered how I am relate to Jacob.  And the only reason I know Jacob's name is from an index to cemeteries that I found in the Westmoreland County Historical Society.  It stated that Jacob m. Catherine Grainer and moved to Westmoreland County @ 1823 with his 6 children.  If all of my facts are correct then Jacob is my 5x great grandfather.  My line would be:

There is a family cemetery that I found in Ligonier, Westmoreland County, PA.  Charles is buried there along with Leonard.  It is very grown over.  Thirteen impressions mark the ground but only 6 gravestones.  The six being: Charles Noel, Leonard Marks, Catharine Noel w/o William, Shannon Noel and his wife, and another brother which I cannot remember, although I have it in my notes at home.  If any of this is remotely familiar please let me know.

Also, I have an obituary from the Ligonier Echo, dated 1892 for Elizabeth Noel, w/o Peter Noel.  It is wonderful.  It is the full length of the paper.  It gives her maiden name as Hare(another family name for me).  Is this the Peter Noel from your research.  They are both buried in Bethel Cemetery on Chestnut Ridge.  Apparently, Peter and Elizabeth donated the land for the Church and cemetery.

You stated that our lines started with the same patriarch, Joseph.  Do you have dates for him?  In my search I have come across Peter Noel b. 17 Mar 1818 d. 12 Feb 1901 married 1840 to Elizabeth Hare b. 18 Mar 1819 d. 1 Aug 1892.  They are both buried in Bethel Cemetery on the 'Ridge.'  Is he the Peter you speak of?  If not, is it possible that he is one of
Jacob's sons?  The info I have states that Jacob came to this area in 1823 with 6 children.  The only children I can find are Jacob Jr. and Charles.  My family is descended from Charles.  I have the following children for Charles and Martha:

John Kuhn is my earilest known ancestorin the Colony of Pennsylvania, but I also have ties back to Eck, Schmit, Riffel, Seifert, Arentz, Aaron, Gret, Danner and more. I have put together a manuscript called a "Tree from Goshenhoppen" in which I attempt to trace the links and migration on Reinsels and  the families from the above list from Goshenhoppen to Westmoreland and Clarion Counties. I relied heavily on the Goshenhoppen Registers, Baptisims of Western Pennsylvania, and Church records from St Mary's in Lebanon and St Nickolas in Crates, along with census records.

The tie of my family to the Goshenhoppen Registers was made because of the recording of the baptism of Margaret Arentz, born Sept. 1, 1808 and baptized Oct. 5, 1808.  Margaret was the daughter of George and Margaret Egg (Eck)Arentz.  Margaret Arentz was the wife of John H.Reinsel who moved to Crates from Lebanon County with his family about
1849-50.  Also, Mary Magdalene Seifert, (Cyphert) the wife of Daniel Aaron, was baptized by the priest at Goshenhoppen and her baptismal record appears in the Goshenhoppen Registers.
 

You might note that Crates is really a corruption of the name Gret. Philip Gret was one of the first settlers of Crates.

In their book, Aarons of Crates, Pa. 1820 to 1980, the Shannons indicate that the baptismal records of St. Mary's, in Lebanon, actually St. Mary's is The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary,  date from 1795. These records show the Baptism of John Reinsel, born June 24, 1797, the son of Henry and Elizabeth Reinsel, on August 26, 1798 and the Baptism of
Anthony son of Henry in 1802. John Reinsel's sponsors at Baptism were John Flour and his wife Anna Mary Flour. John Flour and his wife later appear in Baptisms of Western Pennsylvania. The Flours, sponsors of John Reinsel at Lebanon, first appear in Westmoreland County in March of 1803.

In what is probably the second generation in the colonies, we have Henry Reinsel my earliest confirmed Reinsel ancestor who lived near Lebanon in the late 1790's (John and Anthony were baptized there) and moved to Derry Township, Westmoreland County before 1805. In that year his wife Elizabeth appears as a sponsor for Elizabeth Arnst, 1 year old daughter of Jacob and Margaret Arnst, who was baptized on November 23, 1805. Most likely this Jacob Arnst was really Jacob Arents
a child or grandchild of Jacob and Margaret Arents who were the grandparents of Margaret Arents the wife of John Reinsel.

On April 14 in 1807, Henry and Elizabeth Reinsel bought 222 acres of land from William Montgomery in Derry Township, Westmoreland County for $750 (Vol 8, Page 31, Westmoreland Deeds).

Census records show that this Henry Reintzel was born between 1750 and 1760. His name may have been George Henry
Reinsel. He died in 1841 in Westmoreland County  He married Elizabeth who was born between 1750 and 1760 and died in 1837.

Henry Reintzel Sr. and Henry Reinsel Jr. were subscribers to the log church in Sportsmans Hall in 1810. By 1820, Henry Reinsel Sr. appears to have been living with his son or daughter and their family. Most likely Henry Jr. because they never appeared as separate households in the census as long as Henry Sr. was living.

The 1830 Census, page 169, roll 164, shows Henry Rancil as the head of the following household: 1 male less than  5, 1 male 10 and less than 15, 1 male 40 and less than 50 -- most likely Henry Jr.,  1 male 70 and less than 80 -- most likely Henry Sr., 1 female 20 and less than 30 -- likely Henry Jr's. second wife, Leddy., and 1 female 70 and less than 80 -- likely Elizabeth, Henry Sr's. wife.

The children of Henry Sr. and Elizabeth appear to include a daughter, Rachel, who was born in 1789, according to the Burgoon Genealogy and died on May 15, 1854. She married Adam Kuhn. Rachel Reinzel Kuhn died at the age of 66. Rachel appears to have been a sister of John, Daniel, Anthony, Conrad, Henry and George.

Many years ago I copied the first 41 pages of a book at the St Vincent Library titled "Illustrated History of St. Vincent Archabby" by Gerard Bridge, O.S.B., Beaty, Pa., St. Vincent Archabby Press, 1922.  (I should have copied all of it.) There are references to Kuhn, Ruffner, Crate, Kret, etc.

Dear Grandson,
A few lines to say a new year will soon begin and time rolls on.
In tracing the Noel Family back to George Washington's time
and the day the (...? maybe u.s.o.a ) became a nation.  Adam Noel
and his 5 bros. belonged to Washington's Army.  Adam was an
Officer of Supplies and Transports them days with horses and
mules. Adam Noel was at the surender of Cornwallis at York
Town. His son Joseph Noel was in the 1812 War. After the War
of 1812 was past Joseph Noel, my fathers father, moved from
Maryland to Keck's Burg, Pa. taking a land grant and died about
1842 he is at  St. Vincent's Cemetary.  Adam Noel with Washington
and his son Joesph 1812 War and my Farthers bro. Peter Noel in the
Civil War and Leo Noel World War I and Charles R. Noel in World
War II there are plenty of the original Noel families in this War.
Our ancestors were natives of  Baltimore (..? maybe Md.) mostly
farmers and mechanicks.  This would place you in about the
6 generation.  How time flies. We are all well.  Plenty of snow and
cold weather and the army boys are called by the hundreds to
help trim Hitler and the Japs.
   Be good and dont forget your place and duty to your country
and self.  I will soon start (..?) winters and I am for this (...?)

Can anyone add too or correct the story below.

Catherine Kuhn married Andrew Gerstenweiler maybe in Goshenhoppen, Conewago, PA, or the Tanneytown area of Maryland and moved to Westmoreland County, PA maybe between 1797 and 1799. They may have come in a group from Tanneytown. MD including the families of John Kuhn JR & Elizabeth Kuhn the wife of Nicholas Noel both of which moved to Loretto, PA. The Gerstenweiler's lived out  their lives in Westmoreland with the name spelled Casterwiler. I believe Joseph Noel, a nephew of Nick came with this group, meet and married Margaret Griffin the daughter of Patrick Griffin and Margaret
"Molly" O'Brian, who moved from Goshenhoppen between 1787 and 1790.  Joseph and Margaret had their first child in
1800 and lived in Mt Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County near Kecksburg, PA.

I am 7th generatiom From Christian Dappen who was 30 years old in 1736 and he came to Philadelphia Pa. Passinger
number 78 On the Samuel Merchant Master Princes Agusta ship on sept. 16th,1736 330 passingers from rotterdam and cows . Colonial Records--Vol. 4, Page171. I am sure it is the same ship I found it on the web on passinger lists and his name is on the list I also have a book counting Kindred book  that has the ship and passinger list. The list has passinger # 101 as Joseph Noel age 56. I really appreciate the response, I was so excited when I recieved the information from Horice ory and you and Dominic. I see on the passinger list there were two Ory's , Francois #98 and Nicolas # 99.

Someone earleir posted information that the Princess Augusta was a 220 ton merchant ship with a crew of 16, and carried 8 guns.  It was wrecked off Block Island, RI, Dec. 27-28, 1738, the subject of Whittier's poem, "The Palatine."

Yes.  Also, it was from Roman's Gate,  County Kent  (possibly Ramsgate today) and was most likely named for Augusta, Princess of Wales, mother of George III.  Augusta married the Prince of Wales in 1736, so it would make sense that the ship would bear her name.

I have the complete passinger list, The petition of Durst Thome who petitioned the council at Philadelphia July  19th 1737 and the petition to the Honorable Charles Read for the goods that were taken from the immigrants and a complete list of the goods,

Christian Dappen came to Philadelphia From Riggesberg Switzarland  on the ship Princess Agusta , Samuel Merchant Master 16th. September 1736, sailing from Rotterdam to Cows, to Philadelphia, the trip took four month and seventeen days from April 28th 1736 to 16th sept.1736, he was 30 years old. I have my genealogy from 1999 back to 1568 in Riggesberg. I also have the names and addresses of 114 kindred in Switzerland. Thanks again for your kindness

My name is Peter Everhart.  My great, Great, Great grandmother was Sarah Noel  born in 1809 in Somerset County Pa. daughter of Nicholas Noel born in 1765 in York County Pa. I think his father was Peter Noel born in 1720, however there
is a John Noel who also had a son by the name of Nicholas.   My Nicholas and his wife Mary had their children in Somerset  County Pa. Baptized at Pinehill Lutheran Church.  They then moved their family to Tuscarawas County Ohio where Nicholas Noel had his will probated in 1829.  Many of the other Ohio Noels settled in Scoito County Ohio.

Sarah Everhart  (My ancestor who maried Samuel Dunlap Everhart in 1827 in
Shanesville, Tuscarawas County Ohio),  This is where Nicholas Will was
probated and where he and his Wife Mary are burried.

I do find 2 Nicholas Noels living in Somerset County Pa and having Children at the same time, both members of Pinehill Lutheran Church. The other Nicholas was married to Anna Maria and had Children:
Susaannah b 11-9-1804
Joseph b 7-2-1807
Anna b 8-4-1802
Frederick 6-14-1806

There are Three children b in 1807 that I dont Know where they go
 Maria Daniel and Joseph.
I am sure that My Nicholas is a descendant of this family, But I must find the right connections.

 Last winter ('97) you posted a query on the Maryland GenWeb page asling about
a Blasius, son of Peter NOEL born in York County, PA in 1762 died maybe in
Frederick or Carroll Co MD in 1831.

There is a strong possibility your Blasius & Peter may be connected to a
family I have begun to search.  Perhaps we could help one another.

I am interested in finding what happened to a woman named Catherine
HOCKENSMITH d/o George.  When George died in 1799 he left lot 121 in
Emmittsburg to his daughter Catherine.  On Jan 1808 Nicholas NOEL and his
wife Catherine sold lot 121 to John NOEL of Adams Co, PA.  (Adams Co was
part of York Co until it was formed in 1800).  A few days later Nicholas
and Catherine NOEL got a mortgage from Peter and John NOEL.

I am working on the theory that John, Nicholas and Peter NOEL were brothers,
(there is another deed of the same time frame which I didn't copy but must
go back and check which mentions the NOELs inheriting from their father's
estate) and that Catherine HOCKENSMITH married Nicholas NOEL.  Since John
NOEL was from Adams Co., I began my search there and found a NOEL family
with a Nicholas and John who seemed likely candidates.  But I've since had
to reject them because there was no brother Peter AND the Nicholas had a wife
named Theresa at the time I was looking for Catherine.  (I couldn't even
"kill" off Theresa and let Catherine be a second wife because she and Nicholas
had children born and baptised both before and after 1808.)

So now I'm back to looking for another NOEL family around the PA/MD border
in the early 1800s.  Your query is especially intriquing because when
Captian Samuel Ogle's Company, which consisted of men from the Frederick and
Emmitsburg area, was called up to serve on 1 May 1813 the roster included
Blazon NOEL and David HOCKENSMITH.  David H. was a first cousin to the
Catherine I am seeking and lived in the Emmittsburg, Taneytown area.

Do you have any other information on your Peter NOEL's family.  Was there a
Nicholas?  If so do you know what happened to he and his wife?

My main interest is in Blasius and his children trying to show that Joseph his oldest son was the father of my grandfather Jacob.
The Nicholas that went to Loretto was the son of Peter and not John as  some research will show. A Noel, maybe Nicholas, and a John Feltz did move the preist to Loretto in 1799. Nicholas was on the tax list in 1805. But before this time he is to have lived in Westmoreland County with his wifes siblings, the Kuhn's.  The Noel's were wagoneers by our oral history both during the Revolution and after.  They traveled from Baltimore to Pittsburgh and a John and Balasius lived on the road in Maryland.
The book "Catholic Trails West Volume 2" by Adams and O'Keefe covers these tales. It's about the families of Conewago, Goshenhoppen, Lancaster, Latrobe and Loretto and is very good but with a few mistakes as would be expected.

Now I think that I got the Nicks mixed up, it should look like this: But don't take anything for absolute truth.

Nicholas > Peter > Joseph  born 1764/65 - This one went to Loretto from Tanneytown area via Westmoreland Co.

There were unknown Nicholas Noel's maybe the same person who we find in

Yes Blassius II could have be the  Blazon. The 'Blasius' was the latin name given by the priest. The family name may have been Bloss or Blossy. This man went to Loretto after Nicholas Noel and the Kuhn's moved there. He would be a nephew of Nick
and maybe a brother to my Joseph in Westmoreland Co.

It looks like I may be somewhere between insight and confusion.

I did find a Blasius and Daniel Noel in the Revolutionary War in York Co
and no Noel references (in my material) until the 1790 census.  Both
John and Blasius were in the census in the Emmittsburg/Taneytown area in
1790 and in the direct tax assessment of 1798.  I also saw where Blasius
was an exector for his father-in-law's, Wolgang Speass', estate in Frederick
Co in 1791.

I found no Nicholas Noel's in the Pennsylvania Census in the early 1800's
except for the man in Menallen Twp, Adams Co.  (The one who married
Theresa Miller in 1804.)  But if Blasis's brother, Nicholas was in Loretto
in 1805, he probably isn't the man who was in Frederick Co, MD,  married to a
Catherine, in 1808.

It really looks like I must get back to the Frederick Co records.  I'm not
sure when I can take a day and go "searchin".  I'll be sure to let you know,
whatever I find.  Alas, there are no wonderful tax records for this period
like there are in PA.

I am researching Pierre Joseph Noel,born abt.1793 Paris France.He was a French prisoner  held in Halifax  during the Napoleonic war.Following his release,he lived in various places in Nova Scotia,before settling in Cocagne, New Brunswick.He married Mary Hayes,probably in Tracadie,Nova Scotia.Have the names of their children,Mary,s parents names,and Mary's death date.

Pierre,s 2nd wife was Susan Bellinger.I have more information on this family.I do not have any information on where Pierre was born,other then Paris France,or who his parents were.

Pierre Joseph Noel was catholic,our line as far back as I have researched are all catholic.There are a lot of Joseph's in the family, seems most of the males have the name Joseph as a second name.

Do you remember when I wrote to Fr. Omer last November about the Henry's and Noel's? My first John Henry was born March 7, 1777. He died March 15, 1855. He was married to Mary Magdelina Noel. Well I just heard from St. Vincent Archives today. He said he made a very thorough search of the baptismal records and marriage records according to the dates I gave him and found :
      Joannes Heinrich(Henry) married Maria Zinsdorff on May 7, 1810, at Sportsman's Hall Parish (St. Vincent)
  This is not who I am searching for so do you have any suggestions of where I can start searching?

I was going through my files and guess what I found?  JOHN
S. HENRY'S will!  It says In the name of God Amen.  I John S. Henry of
Unity Township,Westmoreland County,Penna being in sound mind and
understanding  do hereby publish and declare this to be my last Will and
testament hereby revoking all other wills by any time here to fore made.
And first I direct that my body be decently interred in St. Vincent
Cemetery according to rites and ceremonies of the church and that after
my debt funeral expenses are paid my executor herein after shall pay or
cause to be paid to the pastor of St. Vincent the sum of twenty five
dollars for pius uses for myself and my beloved wife Eliza.  I desire
and direct that my executor shall assume the control and direction of my
estate after my decease and shall hold the same to use of my wife Eliza
during her lifetime if she should survive me or if she should die before
me then after my death my said executor herein after named shall give to
each of the three children of Mrs. Matilda Stader deceased formerly wife
of F. Stader the sum of fifty dollars.  If either or any of these
children should be dead at that time then the share of such deceased
child or children shall go to the survivor of if all should be dead at
that time without legal issue the said bequest of fifty dollars to each
child shall go to and be distributed among my three children namely:
Israel J. Henry, Edward F. Henry and Eliza A. Miller wife of Frank
Miller.  I give devise and bequeath to my son Edward F. Henry my horse
and buggy, and--also the household furniture of which I may die
possessed.  This furniture at this time is in is in the three rooms
which myself and wife occupy in the house with John M. Henry my son.
All the furniture therein being my own absolute property.  The picture
in the parlor of this house belong to my son Elias C. Henry and were
left by him to me to be kept as long as I wanted them and then to be
returned to him.  All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate then
remaindes of my estate then remaining shall be divided among my three

Blanche Nessler married Charles Henry, my husband's grandparents.  Her
parents were Joseph Nessler and Elizabeth Ruffner.  Rose Nessler married
Frank Schmucker.  Bertha Nessler married John Burlas.  I think these are
the parents of Fr. Anthony Burlas.  Anthony has a twin brother, Phil.
Did you know Fr. Anthony?  Norbert Nessler married Marie Carr.  They
lived down around Pittsburgh Zoo.  Leo married Marie McGinnis.  Annie
Nessler.  Robonis Nessler.  Joseph Nessler. Mary Nessler married a Pry.
That's about all I have on the Nessler's.  I think that they lived up
around Mt. View.  Was there a place up around there that was maybe
called Mulberry Hill or something like that?  We also have John Thanner
or Thaner that married Catherine Beckman.  John died Dec.8,1891 and
Catherine died March 25,1899.  I believe they are buried at St.Vincent.
I found some of their children.  Martha(not sure if she is family)b. 10
Feb.1861 and d. 3 Feb.,1863.  Amelia Thanner b.2 Dec. 1859 in Denison,PA
and d. in Latrobe.  She married John M. Henry 9 Jan. 1884.  John and
Amelia are great grandparents.  Thomas Thaner.  Clement Thaner.  John
Thanner married Elizabeth Zink.  Theresa Thanner married Joseph Kloos.
Kate Thanner married John Schrieber.  Philomena Thanner married a
Smith.  John S. Henry b.1816 and died 1893.  Married Eliza E. Noel.  She
died 1889.  Their children are Israel J., Matilda married Frank J.
Slater, Elias C. Eliza Agnes married Frank Miller, John M. married
Amelia and Edward F. b.8 May 1891? d.___ 26,1915.  Not real sure about
these last dates.  When I was checking cemetery his stone was pretty
weather beaten.  If my memory serves me correctly, he was either
studying to be a pharmacist or was one when he got pneumonia and died.
I tried to write you twice before and they bounced.  I'll have to try
and check this next story.  I think that either the Beckman's or
Ruffners came over from Germany with Fr. Wimmer that Wimmerton was named after.

He lived in Chicago for a period of time and then moved to California. He died, I believe in California, in April of 1981. The only other thing I know of my father is that he had a sister named Joanne Noel.

Note if this is the Andrew the son of Philip and Catherine above he would have been 24 tears old at the baptism. Most likely

The committee, consisting of Mr. [Ezekiel] Cornell, Mr. [Samuel] Osgood, and Mr.
[Theodorick] Bland, to whom was referred a memorial of Dr. N. Noel , claiming to
have been in the service of the United States until the first of October, 1780,
and soliciting pay, report,

"That upon duly considering the said memorial and the resolutions of the 13th
of  October, the 7 and 14 November, 1777, they are of opinion, that if nothing
further appeared to operate against the claim of the memorialist than what is
contained in the said resolutions, he is precluded from any demands against the
United States. But when the committee consider that the memorialist, upon
receipt of the sums specified in the resolutions of October and November
above-mentioned, considering himself no longer
in the service of the United States by virtue of his commission of surgeon,
dated September, 1777, on which he grounds his claim, immediately repaired to
Boston and accepted an appointment manny
 

Page 330  in the navy, and obtained a warrant dated 1 January, 1778, and when
they consider farther that whatever might have been his intention, the
memorialist's acceptance of the latter appointment, did by virtue of the
resolution of 18 September, 1776, vacate

Couldn't remember what sort of information you were looking for but ran up on this in the SW Louisiana Records: Therese Noel married George Fall as recorded at Opelousas Court House marriage record #58, and at St Charles Boromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau, LA as recorded in GC Church Records Vol 1, page 142. They had two children : William Fall born 14 Jan 1844 as recorded in GC Church Records Vol 1, page 217 and Marie Louise Fall born 21 Jun 1847 as recorded in GC Church Records Vol 1, page 265.

P. Noel had two properties four miles apart listed in the 1867 Atlas of Westmoreland Co. located as follows:

1) Unity Twp. along 9-mile Run, 2.5 mi. northwest of the Unity/Cook Twp. Line.
2) Cook Twp. on same road as #1 above, 1.5 mi. southeast of Unity/Cook Twp Line.

J. Kreitzer had a property in Unity Twp located 1.1 mi. southwest of P. Noel or 1.2 mi. ESE of Lycippus (PO).

 I am just writing again, to see if you think that our names are linked somewhere.  I have recently found several Critzer's with several spelling of the name in Unity and Loyalhanna Twp in the 1850 census.  One was George Critzer, who was born
in New York and was 65 yeard old.  There are many others younger than he, but there is also a John in 1820 and 1830 in Armstmrong County who would be about the same age.

The one lady wrote me and said there were only one in Westmoreland County in 1810, being that George.

Then I have had several other people send to me tonight, one was a James Creutzer with property in book 2 page 147
He is found as a joiner of property.  I did not know how close to the courhouse you were, and thought is you were, sometime you could check this out and let me know for both of us. is a J. Kreitzer in Unity Twp near a P. Noel in the 1867 Atlas of
Westmoreland County.


23 May 1999 I went to our local Mormon church and sent for  one microfiche on Kratzer.  Copied all pages (very illegible).  Written by the Frank C, same as what the man e-mailed to you.  John Philip Kratzer came on ship Snow Molly in 1737.  Settled in Mt Bethel twp, Northampton Co, Pa, Henry and Conrad, sons, also on same ship and under 16.

It is a short history, but also contains many church records of births, deaths, marriages, land records, etc. from the period roughly 1737 to 1830, in the Southeastern Pa. area.  I would be willing to photocopy this for anyone interested and mail it to you for $15.00.  It is all on typewritten pages and very legible.  Send your check made out to Ed Critzer to 119 N. Shields Ave., Richmond, Va. 23220 and allow me about two weeks to get it to you, as I am still full-time employed and don't own a Xerox machine.

This is part of a letter sent June 2, 1974 from Morris E. Swartz, Jr. who is deceased now;
a distant cousin. "Now as to Peter Creysher or Kreisher.  He came from Germany with his
parents in 1765 and they settled in Berks County near Reading.  The C and K are
pronounced almost alike and in those days all written records were in
longhand and subject to phonetic spelling.   For instance, Peter's wife,
Susannah Kime or Keim is spelled Kime on the gravestone of Peter, but the
family's right name was Keim.
Peter Creysher entered the Revolutionary service on Mar. 22, 1776 under Capt.
Henry Christ, Jr. (thare are many in this area today who spell the name Crist
and only a few Christ) in Col. Samuel Miles' regiment (page 238 Continental
Army Record)  This Continental Army Record is an official publication and is
in the State Library at the Capitol in Harrisburg).
The Berks County, PA, Historical Sociely in Reading has a book of Berks
County residents who signed the loyalty oath at the outbreak of the war -
those  loyal to the colonies.  On page 35 is the name Cimon Kreisher (notice
Cimon instead of Simon) and Peter Kreisher on page 39 (K not C).
Peter Creysher's gravestone reads as follows:  "In memory of  "Peter Creysher
was born 1754 & departed this life May 4, 1806 aged 52 years & was married to
Susanna Kime & kept house 27 years & was the parents of"    the remainder of
the stone is buried in cement.  Here's the gravestone story.    The old
Silver Run churwas used jointly by the Lutherans and Reformed congregations -
one holding services on one Sunday, the other on the following Sunday.  They
had a common cemetery.
Then came trouble and a split with the one group moving further north a
couple of hundred yards to build a new church and a new more modern cemetery.
   The old  church group had some financial troubles and to help solve them,
they rented the cemetery out to a farmer to use as a field.  The farmer tore
up all but two tomb stones, those two being encased in the trunks of two pine
trees.  The removed stones were stacked neatly against the stone wall fence
around the cemetery.  The cemetery then was farmed.    Finally some irate
relative of a person interred there brought suit and as a result of a court
order, the church had to forbid further farming use of the cemetery.  No one
knew where any grave was so rows of cement were laid, like in the unknown
soldiers' graves at Gettysbury, and the various tombstones were placed
upright in the cement, back to back, with the inscriptions on the outside.
Hence, the names of Peter's children are on that part of the stone buried in
cement.
I never found Susanna's stone there but I assume she went to live with a son
or daughter after becoming a widow.  I am no cartographer but here is a rough
layout of the cemetery at Silver Run, Maryland".

[I don't know how to type what he has drawn].  "On the east side of the
cemetery is Route 140, running from Littlestown in the north to Baltimore in
the south.  I have put a veteran's flag at Peter's stone but it is always
removed for grass cutting and not replaced.   I did take take a picture of
Peter's gravestone which I have on a slide.  If you ever visit the cemetery,
you have to go down one row and back on the other side and then the next
until you find it.  I have forgotten whether the plan of the cemetery I made
is accurate or if his stone is in the second or third row from the fence.  I
am sorry but it is many years since I was there"

  I too am a Kreitzer descendant.  I have photographed many of the Kreitzer headstones - especially those who migrated into the Montgomery County Ohio area.  My grandmother was a Kreitzer.    I would like to see the descendancy of those who are receiving this "list" of sorts. Also, I found Peter Kreitzer listed as a Rev. War soldier, does anyone have any proof of this?  I had no luck finding a pension record on him.    My descendancy is thru:

I wish there was a connection with my lone Barbara Kreitzer. Barbara was born in Germany in 1839.  She came to the US in 1849, one would assume in the company of other members of her family.  If your Kreitzers were born in Pennsylvania around 1800, they could be her parents' relatives.  I will keep my eye open for
